Workers and employers

How ratings and reviews work on GapCrew

In short

After a job, the worker and the employer can each leave a rating from one to five and a short comment, and the reviews are revealed together, or after 14 days, so neither sees the other's first.

Key points

  • Reviews describe how a job went, in both directions.
  • Neither side sees the other's review until both are in or 14 days have passed.
  • An average appears only once there are at least three visible reviews.

When a review opens

A review opens at the worker's check-out or the job's planned end, whichever comes first. A cancelled booking never opens a review, for either side.

What you write

A rating from one to five and an optional comment of up to 500 characters. The prompt is about how the job went. Do not post anything abusive, untrue or private about another person.

Why reviews appear together

A review stays hidden until both are in, or until 14 days after it opened, whichever comes first. That stops people from rating in reply to what they have seen. Before it is revealed, you can edit your own review once. After the reveal, it cannot be changed or deleted.

What others see

A profile shows the average and count of visible reviews. Below three reviews it shows only the count, or "New" when there are none. Reviews show the reviewer's masked name and the month and year, never an account number, phone number or location. A worker and an employer each have a separate rating in each role.

Reporting a review

The person a visible review is about can report it, choosing a reason and adding an optional note. A GapCrew administrator looks at reports and can hide a review that breaks the rules. Only a reported review can be hidden.

Common questions

Does cancelling lower my rating?
No. Cancelling is never part of a rating or review, and a cancelled booking does not open a review.
Do ratings affect which jobs I see?
No. Matching does not read ratings. Employers can see ratings when they decide whom to confirm.
