Fees and payments

Who pays whom, and why GapCrew costs nothing at launch.

GapCrew is free at launch

GapCrew is free for employers and for workers at launch. Posting a job, responding to a job and confirming a worker cost nothing.

No card payments

GapCrew takes no card payments. It does not ask for card details and does not store card numbers.

Workers are paid directly

Employers pay workers directly, outside GapCrew. Worker wages never pass through GapCrew, and GapCrew does not hold or move a worker's pay. The employer and the worker agree how and when payment happens.

Pay rates

The employer sets the pay per hour in the job post. It must be at least Washington's minimum wage for the job's dates, and the app will not post a job with a lower rate. Some cities, such as Seattle and Renton, have a higher minimum wage. If the pay is below the city's rate, the app warns the employer so they can check which rate applies.

If this changes

If GapCrew ever starts charging, this page and the Terms will be updated first, and any fee will be shown in the app before anything is charged. Questions: email support@gapcrew.com.

GapCrew is not a party to the agreement between a worker and an employer, and does not guarantee a job, attendance or payment between them. See the Terms.
