Trust and safety
Accessibility
An honest statement: what we aim for, what we have done, and where we fall short.
Our goal
GapCrew aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, on this website and in the app. We have not had an outside accessibility audit, so we do not claim that we meet it.
What has been done
- This website has a skip link, headings in order and page landmarks, so you can move around with a keyboard or a screen reader.
- Links, buttons and form fields can be reached and used with a keyboard, and show where the focus is.
- Form fields have labels, and status and error messages in the app are marked so screen readers can announce them.
- The website's text and background colors are checked against the AA contrast ratio every time the site is built.
- Neither the website nor the app blocks zooming or larger text, and both are built to work on a phone screen.
- Animation is switched off for people whose device is set to reduce motion.
- Information is in text, not only in images. Images on the website that carry meaning have a text description.
Known gaps
- We have not tested with every screen reader, browser and phone. Some things may not work as they should.
- The app does not have a skip link yet, and its colors and contrast have not been checked as thoroughly as the website's.
- Sign-in includes a bot check from a third party. We do not control how accessible it is.
- Some job and booking screens carry a lot of information and may be harder to follow with a screen reader.
